This has been a brilliant year for movies. Hollywood saw many big movies this year. With many records been broken of the box-office. We’ve gathered a list of 11 best comedy movies of the year 2008 (till now of course there are many more to come) which made this year full of laughter and amazement, even though few movies like The Love Guru didn’t do that well as expected.

1. WALL-E

WALL-E (promoted with an interpunct as WALL·E) is a 2008 computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film was directed by Andrew Stanton. It follows the story of a robot named WALL-E who is designed to clean up a polluted Earth. He eventually falls in love with another robot named EVE, and follows her into outer space on an adventure.

After directing Finding Nemo, Stanton felt that Pixar achieved believable water physics and was willing to direct a film set in space. Most of the characters do not have actual human voices, but instead communicate with body language and robotic sounds, designed by Ben Burtt, that resemble voices. In addition, it is the first animated feature by Pixar to have segments featuring live action characters.

Walt Disney Pictures released it in the United States and Canada on June 27, 2008. The film grossed $23.1 million on its opening day, and $63 million during its opening weekend in 3,992 theaters, ranking #1 at the box office. This ranks the third highest-grossing opening weekend for a Pixar film as of July 2008. Following Pixar tradition, WALL-E was paired with a short film titled Presto for its theatrical release. It has achieved an overall approval rating of 97% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Stiller initially had the idea for the film while playing a small part in Empire of the Sun, and later brought on Theroux and Cohen to help him complete the script. After the film was greenlit in 2006, filming took place in 2007 on the Hawaiian island of Kauai over 13 weeks, and was deemed the largest film production in the island’s history. The film had a large marketing promotion, including showing numerous screenings, selling the fictional energy drink advertised in the film, and posting faux websites for the characters, films, and products shown in Tropic Thunder.

The film met controversy among the disability advocacy community prior to its release on August 13, 2008. It received generally positive reviews with 83% and 71% ratings according the review aggregator websites Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, respectively.

Hollywood is full of colors and styles. Be it Bruce Willis in his Die Hard movies or Tom Cruise in his Mission Impossible trilogy. We love it all. But the thing which we love the most is the comical acts of Robin Williams or odd faces of Jim Carrey. We have collected a list of fifteen of the Hollywood’s funniest actors, to show them our love.

1. Bill Murray

William James “Bill” Murray (born September 21, 1950) is an Oscar-nominated, Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA winning American comedian and actor.

The Ghostbusters star has always been a riotously comic actor, understated or overplayed or, even, both. Recent years have seen him in critically raved roles, and he Is the star most suited for the recently coined ‘drama’ genre. This year saw him playing the fat cat in Garfield, and lapping up the reviews for the surreal.

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Still, as he showed in Lost In Translation last year, he can move his eyebrow to hit your funny bone like none other. A master.
